Togo Community Organization of Oregon (TOGO CORE) is a nonprofit charitable trust providing culturally appropriate support to communities from Togo and other African countries, building leadership, and raising awareness on health, education, and safety.
The Mission of TOGO CORE is to: - Provide culturally appropriate moral support to communities in Oregon - Build youth leadership and capacities through arts and professional development - Raise awareness on the importance of health, education, and safety - Promote family and community values through cultural activities.
Togo Community Organization of Oregon a 501(c) (3) non-profit in the State of Oregon. Our tax ID number or EIN is 46-1947669. All contributions, bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts, to Togo Community of Oregon are tax deductible, provided that no goods or services are received in exchange.

Our Programs
1. EDUCATION SUPPORT
TOGO CORE serves as liaison and collaborates with governmental and non-governmental organizations to raise awareness on the importance of school education for children and English literacy for parents. Some projects under the education program include: - Parenting in America for the Safety and Success (P.A.S.S.) - Youth leadership through arts – Multicultural Arts Camp (M.A.C.) projects - Encouraging parents to be involved in their children’s school activities such as Parents and Teachers Associations. - Education of parents and children on youth violence prevention in coordination with governmental agencies - Mentorship programs for immigrant children.
2. HEALTH SUPPORT
TOGO CORE serves as liaison between communities, governmental, and non-governmental organizations that provide free or low cost health services to communities. Some projects under this program include: - Awareness on health issues specific to African immigrants - Education and promotion of culturally appropriate wellness support to communities - Information on affordable or low cost health services available to communities
3. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – ECONOMIC/ CAREER SUPPORT
TOGO CORE serves as a liaison between communities, governmental, and non-governmental organizations that provide free or low cost job information and professional development or career training support to families. Some projects under this program include: - Free professional development training to community members - Free business development training to community members - Free assistance with organizational development processes
4. CULTURAL SUPPORT AND INTERCULTURAL RELATIONS
TOGO CORE will form a Cultural Committee, which will plan and coordinate events to bring together Togo and African community members to celebrate cultural events. The projects under this program include: - Cultural celebrations such as Independence Days, Thanksgiving Days, religious holidays, and other significant cultural events. - Intercultural relations activities to build and develop cross-cultural relations among members of different racial and cultural identity groups, a peace building strategy.
