2017 Annual Activity Report

In 2017, we:

• Conducted small community health education sessions in homes.
• Hosted the commemoration of Togo Independence anniversary in May 2017
• Organized a community gathering in the park in September 2017
• Attended various community and family events
• Provided technical and fiscal sponsorship to other organizations
• Participated in gatherings/meetings with our donor Northwest Health Foundation and multiple collaborative groups from Oregon and Southwest Washington in Salem (May), Ontario (July), and Portland (October). Gatherings consisted of workshops to develop strategies and action plans for equity narratives, leadership, legislative actions, and policy. 
• Participated in monthly meetings of the Multiethnic Advisory Group at IRCO
• Collaborated with partners to identify/prioritize issues and strategies for our communities
• Co-developed curriculum with African specific values to train African community health workers
• Participated in IRCO Resource Council meetings
• Represented TOGO CORE at the African Community Council of Oregon
• Participated in advocacy sessions with collaborative groups
• Supported African Family Holistic Health Organization in their maternal and child health projects.
