Helping communicate information about vaccine eligibility to members, assist in accessing the vaccine by letting the community know of when and where vaccination events were happening (with AFFHO, as well as other organizations), and doing information webinars to increase knowledge about COVID, and address misinformation, stigma, and worries in the community relating to receiving the COVID-19 vaccines and increase vaccine confidence.
Earthquake preparedness webinar
A collaboration with Portland Bureau of Emergency Management (PBEM) to receive an earthquake preparedness event. Learning the basic science of earthquakes, how to keep the family and individuals same and to have simple ways of preparing at home, work and in the community. A French interpreter was present in the meeting to accommodate, and a free kit was provided after the meeting including gas shutoff key, flashlight and batteries, emergency whistle, solar blanket, water bottle, and a handcrank radio.
Fire preparedness/safety webinar
Learned how to stay safe in case of a fire and how to keep the family and individual safe when in a fire related incident.
